I am trying to find the best all-inclusive resort for our honeymoon, we would prefer an adult only resort. Also it should be ‘tropical’…it would be great if room service and an in-room two person jacuzzi and/or pool were included..please help if you have any recommendations or opinions, we want to find the perfect spot for romance and memories….thanks
Hotel Lapa Rios is in the book 1000 things you must see before you die, it is one of the most highly awarded hotels in the world and it is in costa rica. This is where i would go if i was you. Although it is a little pricy.

Hear nature’s most beautiful songs at Lapa Rios. Sixteen spacious bungalows open to spectacular ocean views, allowing pleasant sea breezes to whistle in day and night. Sunbathe on your own wooden deck, smelling sweet flower aromas from your own private garden, while cooling your warm body under a pleasant open air shower.
Wildlife greets you at your door with the enchanting cry of exotic birds like the famous Scarlet Macaw, or the graceful canopy leap of the Squirrel monkey. Wander through the many rainforest trails and listen to the awesome music of the rainforest wildlife. And when night dances upon your shoulders, marvel at the brilliance of a starlit sky, letting you gently drift down the tides of sleep.
Lapa Rios will let you create the romantic honeymoon that you have always dreamed about:
Plant a tree in the lodge’s private rainforest reserve and leave a memory of your unforgettable honeymoon.
Enjoy a unique romantic candlelight dinner by our swimming pool, overlooking the rainforest and magnificent Golfo Dulce that drifts away into the ocean.
What about a romantic boat ride in the nearby Golfo Dulce with a nature guide? Depending on the time of the year, you might be able to see sea turtles, whales and possibly swim with dolphins.
Adventure into nature: horseback ride along a pristine beach or hike into unspoiled rainforest waterfalls, featuring natural pools that will regenerate your soul.
Let us surprise you with a welcome present in your room!
Pamper your body with a unique massage, either in the privacy of your own room or in our rainforest-view massage room

“As soon as we entered, there was a special, magical heir to Lapa Rios. We both admire your staff for their excellent jobs they have done and the pride they take in their work. When we first entered our bungalow we were delighted. Every thing we have done and experienced was “muy excellente” from the fine dining (and I can be tough to please) to our walk to the beach or our hike to the waterfalls.
Each activity was so much fun here than it could be anywhere. Even waking up at 6 am was pleasurable since we got to see wonderful wildlife like monkeys, toucans and Scarlet Macaws. We hope to celebrate an anniversary here one day. This place is absolutely perfect and a little slice of heaven. See you soon.”

At Lapa Rios we understand that “one size does not fit all” and would be happy to help you create your own honeymoon package. Just let us know how many nights you would like to stay with us (we recommend a minimum of three nights) and add on the activities that you would like to engage in. Choose from surf lessons, swimming with dolphins, wild waterfall hikes, horseback riding, Yoga at sunset and relaxing massages with views of the Golfo Dulce and Pacific Ocean. In some cases, we can make the reservation for the activities ahead of your arrival, but in other cases, we recommend you make your decisions upon arrival taking into consideration the weather and your mood. Take a look at our tours and activities page
A quality restaurant experience in the middle of the rainforest? Fresh seafood, fine meats, local fruits and vegetables and exotic spices are important components in our fusion cuisine that has been featured in Bon Appetit Magazine. So many of our guests have requested our recipes that we even did our own Lapa Rios cookbook
If you would like to see our breakfast or lunch menus or take a look at what is for dinner, follow the link to culinary highlights. Don’t forget to check out our new world wine list featuring a selection of fresh white wines and light red wines from Chile , Argentina , California and Oregon .

researching honeymoons. thought St. Croix was the spot, but have been reading about sand fleas on the beaches ruing otherwise perfect vacations. hawaii is much more expensive but I’m wondering if it is worth it to avoid sand fleas. are there sand fleas on the beaches of hawaii during the month of June?
There are no sand fleas here. I’m a regular beachgoer (go to a variety of beaches) and have never encountered any problems. The beaches are great here. If you want more info on Oahu beaches, see http://www.to-hawaii.com/oahu/beaches/
I recently flew American Airlines on my honeymoon, and for a two hour flight, the only came to us once and asked if we wanted something to drink. On the second segment going to my honeymoon, which was also two hours, I did ask the flight attendant for another drink, and it seemed like she did it grudgingly. It seems like American Airlines employees have an attitude toward customers, unless your in first class (which if I did that, I would have paid as much,if not more, for the plane tickets alone, as I did for the entire vacation package)
So I am thinking about withdrawing from American’s mileage program. Does anybody know which airlines, other than Southwest, that treats coach passengers with a little respect?
Well, the airlines can raise their prices, so their employees can be paid a reasonable wage for what they often have to put up with, and you’ll see better service.
It’s not the 1960’s anymore. You don’t get full service at ticket prices that are lower than they were back then.
